Summertime

Hello readers, hope your summer is going well and that you're also enjoying the rather nice weather we are having...:)

Just a short article as I still have many things in my mind lately and yet to figure them out...:) takes time...;)

Meanwhile, I'm keeping myself busy between my writing, reading many books (as always^^) and watching nice and fun TV shows: the usual and unbeatable F.R.I.E.N.D.S that makes you laugh no matter what, the new and very refreshing full of British humour: Miranda (worth the detour!), you won't be able to stop laughing, I guarantee you! :) , and another fun one-I heard about it but never got around to watch it-it's called 'Hot in Cleveland', when three best friends decided to go from LA to Paris from a week-end, but their plane has to make an emergency landing...in Cleveland, Ohio. They end-up staying, renting a house with a snarky quite astute, senior caretaker...let's the fun starts! :)

Hope one of them will make you laugh! :)

All the best, take care and see you soon for another article! :) xxx

Books

Hello readers, hope you're all enjoying the start of this summer! :)

Just a short article today. I won't be too long and hopefully I won't be repeating myself too much (rire)! :)
As you already know and if you're-by any chance-been following my blog for the past five years, you have guessed...I do love books, as long as I can remember! :) they always have been there for me, no matter what, whenever I needed, without questions...whether I needed (or need) to laugh, cry, hold my breathe until I know what happens next or not being able to stop turning the pages..., to imagine who the characters are, what they are doing and mostly how they are evolving, sometimes giving me ideas for my future stories...they're simply here! :) and they rarely let me down...:) especially now as I have still got a lot on my mind and things to figure out...:)  I simply forget the rest and escape in another world for a little while, .just like writing...,there is nothing better and you can always drink a cup of tea! :)

All the best and see you around for another article! Take care, xxx

In need of time...

Hello readers, hope you're all OK in this start of the spring! :) Soon the summer...! ;) Keep going and good luck for everything! ;) All the best! :) x

In the meantime, I'm starting to realize that even though I'm slowly starting to get better (I won't say more for privacy reasons, thanks for understanding), I've still got a lot in my mind...and many things yet to figure out...I feel as lost as last year...even though I know in my heart that I want to one day maybe if I can...publish a novel!  (or several^^):) finger cross as we say! ;) but to get there eventually, there is a lot of work to do and of course the key word...'confidence', which I'm still working on it...;)

I'm also going to write less on my blog...(not for too long I reassure you) , just for a little while...I need time to regroup, I need to process everything else...I know time is flying as quickly as it can...but I also need time to...breathe...to know where I'm going...

I'm glad I have got my family and close friends, who I know help whenever they can....and I'm more than grateful for that, so thanks to everyone for being there, I do appreciate it.

So, I also might plan to go away soon for a few days, maybe to discover another part of England, who knows? or just to see a city I know and love? Will see, just to clear my head and have some 'me' time...(without being selfish of course ;) once again, thanks for everything and see you around for another article as soon as I know more! take care! Have a lovely summer in advance if I don't write by then!

All the best and believe in yourself! ;)

'I just a grabbed a spoon'

Hello readers,

Just a short article on this last Sunday of March-don't forget to change the clock! :)

Lately, my mood has been more down than up...and as you know, when that happens, there is nothing better than watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S to make you smile and laugh...to make  you forget everything else...no matter how much you're watching it! Great isn't it? :)

I'll let you guess the meaning of this article title by simply watching this short extract of Friends (you can look at it on youtube if it doesn't work) Enjoy! :) take care! xxx

Oh, there is nothing better than picking-up your pen and fill-up pages -when you're inspired and escape in your own world...feel the pen, see the words forming, letter after letter...;)

I know that using computers to write are also very practical as it more readable and clean (I'm the first to use it too) but sometimes, I like to come back to the basics and use a pen and papers...:)

Take care and see you soon for another article! :) xxx

Emma- A modern retelling

Dear readers, hope everything's alright! :)

I didn't plan to write but it's always a pleasure for me to share something with you.
As you know I'm a Jane Austen's fan through and through and always like to discover new facts or hear nice things abour her (I even wrote my dissertation on her in my third year of uni!). So, when I heard (see previous article) a few selected authors would re-rewrite (as many before them) new modern version of Jane Austen's novel, I was quite happy and intrigued.

Until now, the published novels 'Sense and Sensibility'by Joanna Trollope (2013) and 'Northanger Abbey by Val McDermid (2013) (also see my previous article) have been OK, I had a good time reading them. Until...I-despite the mixed reviews I read before-decided to finally let myself try to read the one based on Emma written by Alexander McCall Smith. I'm really sorry but I prefer the original! I get that's hard to do like Jane Austen and I'm not sure the authors do that in any case, as they're using their own way of writing, so no judgement on that part. :) It's just that...I tried to read but impossible to be attracted by it.

Sometimes, it feels like some passage could be shorter (not expert of course, just an impression), others could get to the point much quicker. Fortunately, I know the story quite well after reading a few years ago (five to precise), the original version and watching many adaptions. So, no worries even if I didn't really succeed to read this new modern story. But I did not finish the book. It started with a good idea but the result is let's say different. I don't know when the modern version of 'Pride&Prejudice' will be published exactly. I'll keep you posted. The author having taking the task of written it is 'Curtis Sittenfield',

To finish this article on a good note, here is a quotation from Jane Austen: 'I suppose there may be a hundred different ways of being in love' Emma (1815). From the book 'What Jane Austen would do?'

See you soon for another article! Take care, xxx
