Jane Austen-Quote

Hello readers, hope you're all OK! :)

Just a short article today, I won't be too long. Like my previous article, I'll let this picture, speak for itself.

In light of recent events, I just thought it was appropriate and I think there is no one like Jane Austen to make your smile-whenever you feel down. :)

Enjoy! :) Take care and see you soon for another article! xxx

Autumn Colors

Hello readers, I know I haven't written much these past few months but I've still got a lot on my mind (see previous article). So today, just a short article, or shall we say, a picture...:)

Autumn may come before the winter, with fresh temperatures and night falling early but there is also nice landscape or sunset...;) and this magazine features made me think of that.

Nice, isn't it? Makes me want to snuggle in front of a fire , with a good book and a warm cup of tea ;) Anyway, take care and see you soon for another article! Happy Halloween for those who intend to celebrate it! And don't forget that we have now officially turn the clock backward again! :) xxx

A lot on my mind...

Hello readers, hope you're having (or had maybe?) a nice summer...;)

Yes, dreaming is nice, it's a way of escaping and think about something else once in a while, to open your eyes a little more on new possibilities...I'm the first to recognize that :)

But sometimes, life has a way of catching-up and reality comes back before you knew it. And nothing quite prepares you for that...it's (slightly) scary actually. I only have four months or so to figure things out and to be honest, I'm...terrified. So little time and so much to do...even though I know I'm not completely alone, I still feel lost-like a big fish in the ocean...:) Some make it looks like it's easy, except for me it's not. I don't know where to begin...overwhelming, isn't it?

Anyway, enough about me-I'll keep you posted. Thanks again for listening! See you around for another article I hope! ;) Take care, xxx

Dream a little dream...:)

Hello readers, hope you're all OK and are enjoying the start of the Summer! :)

Just a short article today-actually, I'll let this picture speak for itself! :)

A part from having the dream of being able to be an author one day, (see title), I'm also dreaming of having my own place in the near future, as well as having a dog (love them!) and just a room for books! (yeah, I'm probably...a little bit crazy, but who cares?) Wouldn't it be nice? ;)

Take care and see you soon for another article as usual! Have a lovely Summer, if I don't write by then! :)
And don't forget to dream once in a while! ;-) xxx

'Me before You' -the movie

Hello readers,

OMG! There are no words...and that's quite rare for me...:)  I may have read this  book a few years back when I was university but OMG (sorry can't help it)...nothing really prepare you for the flow of emotions that goes through you-whether you have read the book or saw the movie (no specific order is necessary although I'd recommend to read the book first).

For those who don't recall or are hearing about it for the first time, here is a quick resume: 'Louisa or Lou Clark had just lost one of many jobs-working in Tea Shop in rural England. But soon manages to find another job, despite having no experience whatsoever) caring for Will Traynor, a man recovering from a terrible motocycle accident that left him paralyzed and in a wheelchair...start a long journey towards friendship and acceptance as well as...romance.

I won't say more, otherwise I'll end-up telling you everything ;) I was a bit worried, of course, as it's always hard to adapt a book to the big screen but...here, it doesn't really matter, you are easily swept into the story and can't help but feel for the characters as you get to know them...:) Once again, it really worth reading and seeing afterwards...one thing though: get the tissues ready! There are no way you cannot...cry or feeling very emotional...:) True story...;)

Anyway, hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did. The sequel 'After you' is already out-if you're also interested. I haven't read it yet but will let you know...;)

Take care and see you soon for another article!  ;) xxx

P.s=Please, stop comparing it to Fifty shades of Grey! This book is So much better than that! ;) Thnak you...! (you'll understand why if you read some of the critics...) x

Books that makes you smile...:)

Dear readers, hope you're all OK and enjoying the nice Spring we've have been having? :)

Just (another) short article today and once again, I'll let the pictures (see title above), speak for itself! ;)

Enjoy! :) Hope you'll like them as much as I enjoyed reading them! :) Ah, what would we do without books? Don't you love that feeling? When you first open them and start to read the first chapter...? ;-) and of course, when you can't stop reading until you know what happens next? ;) I don't think it can go better than that...do you? :)
Take care and see you soon for another article! :) xxx

'Eligible' by Curtis Sittenfeld-A modern re-telling of 'Pride & Prejudice (2016)

Dear readers, hope you're all OK! :)

Not back quite yet but I couldn't wait to share with you a book I read recently (and just finished). As you (already know by now, I'm a Jane Austen addict-well not quite but almost...:) so, when I heard of writers taking part of a project consisting of re-writing the most well-known Jane Austen's novels, I was quite intrigued-to the say the least. (See previous article)

So far four books have been published in the last three years:

-'Sense&Sensibility' by Joanna Trollope
-'Northanger Abbey' by Val Mc Dermid (hope it's the right spelling)
-'Emma' by Alexander McCaller Smith
and the one I'm going to talk about: 'Eligible' which has recently published as you can see.

This new version of 'Pride & Prejudice' is quite different from all the version I've been reading. For example, the story takes place in the U.S. A, more specifically between, New York, Cincinnati and Los Angeles. And the author isn't afraid of taking a few liberties, whilst keeping the spirit of the book.
Also, Jane and Lizzie are a lot older (respectively forty and thirty eight), still unmarried as the story begins-of course they both find love at the end as we all know and the relationship between the five sisters is...slightly more chaotic, not at all like Jane Austen's describes it in her own novels. Except maybe for Jane and Lizzie, who get along the best.
Lizzie (a bit like Anne Elliot) takes a lot on her shoulder, trying to help her family the best  way she can, but rarely gets a 'thank you' and everyone keeps telling her secret, she is suppose to keep, taking her for granted sometimes. As for her dealings with Darcy, that's a all different story . I still find it interesting as you both see them evolving throughout the novel...there is just one little detail that I...found is missing but maybe that's just me. I respect everyone's opinion on the matter though.
But I'll let you discover the rest for yourself or I'll end-up telling you everything. :)

In all, it was easy to read and resfreshing but...I'm sorry to say: I really (and always will)  prefer the original version (each of them). There is nothing better than laugh along with Jane Auten's wit and sense of humor. She's the best...:)

There are still two books left: 'Persuasion' and 'Mansfield Park' to be published...I'll keep you posted.

Take care and see you soon for another article!:) xxx

Another year begins...:)

Dear readers, hope you're all OK and had a very festive holiday! :) And first to start this new year, just a few words to wish you all a very warm happy new year, best wishes! ;)

And of course, we all know, that every year, we all want to make resolutions, which are a good thing, but also...quite hard to keep...:) no worries. We have all been there.

But this year...is quite important for me as I've got a few decisions to make, so lately I've had a lot on my mind...(sorry in advance if I don't write much)...keeping me busy. I feel terrified and scared at the same time...it may sound simple for others, whilst it is less easy for me...so I really hope I'll get through this...;)

In the meantime, every year, fall...Valentine's day and I'm sorry to say but if I hear or see something related (which I probably will as it's hard to miss) to it...I'm going to scream. I've got nothing against romance and love happy ending but it looks more and more commercial every year, leaving the romance out of it. It feels too much, as if you've got  to feel obligated to do something or buy a card or flowers or go to a nice restaurant or...do something romantic or if you're single, oh my god, it's awful...(No, it's not!), there is nothing wrong with being single or wanting to stay quietly at home with a cup of tea and a good book! (which I prefer). But once again, everyone is entitled to its opinion. ;)

I'll see you soon for another article, take care, xxx
