Dear readers,
Hope you're all OK and are currently enjoying the Summer?
Sorry, I haven't written in a long time...
In the meantime, I don't know if you're aware or know about the Bridgerton already? (If not, you definitely should!). The author (Julia Quinn) imagined a family of eight children, named in alphabetical order (Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory and Hyacinth), living in the middle-of the 19th Century. As you can imagined, a lot happens, with their mother's meddling and encouraging them to marry, their constant banter, the mysterious Lady Whistledown and other intrigues....that I'll let you discover :) I can guarantee they'll make you laugh and cry at the same time. Almost impossible to stop reading! :)
However, I recently discovered that it was to become a TV series, coming soon on Netflix. I'm a bit...how can I say? Hum...divided, shall we say? In a way, I'm curious and intrigued as to what the result is going to be, as I read the books and I always wondered what the characters would like if a TV series or a movie would ever be made one day. It might be fun to watch after all. It might be a good TV show, despite my misgivings. And I won't know until I watch it, that's for sure. But a part of me is also worried. Not too worried. Just a little bit. Mostly because half the time, whenever they tried to adapt books whether it's for the cinema or the TV, it's a...disaster. Sorry but it can be sometimes. It's either too much. Or too cheesy. Or they cut most of what happened in the books (e.g Harry Potter franchise or Twilight being one of many examples, there are probably others) or tend to change everything. The main reason...money. Or the director has his or her own visions, which can differ, I guess, from the book(s).
Also, Netflix is big machine...so to speak (like Amazon Prime). Some TV shows rarely get a proper chance. And disappear too soon. Whatever the reason is (bad reviews, not many interests, too expensive...). Each streaming company has its own policy.
Anyway, that's just me. You're welcome to have your opinion. And, like I said, above, I won't know specifically until I saw at least one episode (whenever its released, although it might be a while as they are only starting to assemble the cast). So more later....I'll keep you posted.
Whilst waiting, you can read the books in advance ;)
Take care and see you soon for another article xxx
P.s= There are also prequels....if you are interested?
