Hello readers,
Hope you're all OK and enjoying the rather nice summer we're having! :)
I won't be too long today, just a short article, unless the inspirations takes and I end-up writing a novel...would be nice though...;-)
Anyway, as you more or less know by now (see title), I'm still wondering many things lately, keeping my mind rather busy, although I'm trying to take a step back and relax a bit...no easy! I'll probably figure things out at some point, nevertheless I need time...
In the meantime, after enjoying a re-reading of the lovely book: 'Emma' by one of my favorite author...Jane Austen! :) a few weeks ago. I'm now re-reading: 'Persuasion'! (less known but still great);) Hands up to Anne Elliot who has a lot on her plate, especially with her family (her father is arrogant, cold, full of himself, and tends to spend too much...brr), her eldest sister Elizabeth is just like him and her younger sister Mary (married to Charles Musgrove) isn't much better...-a younger version of Mrs Bennett (in a way, not completely but she sometimes reminds of her)! and in the middle of handling (with the help of Lady Russell (close family friend)) her family crisis, Anne meets again with the man she loved (still does) so many years before but she was persuaded to end the engagement: the none other Captain Wentworth ! So you see poor Anne has a lot in her mind! I don't know how she does it! But I think she's incredibly brave and patient...along the book you see her keeping it together, every day, maintening a brave face, smiling, being there for everyone but herself..., putting her own needs away...while everyone treats in a indifferent manner...and has to go through meeting with Wentworth again...you can imagine how he feels when he sees Anne for the first time in years...not so warm...and you feel for Anne. Fortunately, we all know how it ends...;) I won't say more! If you want to know what happens, read (or re-read like me), this lovely wonderful book that make millions of fans throughout the world... completely melt! :)
I'll keep you posted and hope to see you soon for another article! take care! xxx
P.s= I certainly hope that one day, someone will have the mind of doing a much better version of this book...(the last one I watched, it wasn't very good and something was definitely missing!), I'm not saying it has to be perfect, it's not possible to put everything (although the book isn't too big)...but it deserves to be treated so much better than the one I saw so far...;) let's see what happens! ;) x
